Imagine operating your PC without actually touching it, and that too without wearing any special sensors on your hand. If that sounds good then give a five to Elliptic Labs. Reportedly the firm has developed technologies for touchless user interfaces that automatically detects movements without having to put your fingers on the screen. The sensors (placed on or next to a monitor) can detect movements in the air up to 5 feet. You just have to point your finger at the display to start manipulation with objects. In addition to the normal use (like opening a folder, browsing snaps etc), the system can be used in computer games and mobile phones. Also the company said that their system is robust enough for a surgeon to operate in the sterile zone.
