Already jumping in the air? Sure, if you’re a nerd who likes to watch porn in HD. Reportedly, Sony is working on some cool new hard drive technology which will make those typical 160GB HDD redundant. This new tech packs one terabit data per square inch — that’s five times the density of existing hard disks!

The Inquirer reports, “it’s a basic technique for writing data based on magneto-optical hybrid recording. Data bits are written to disk medium using laser light concentrated on an almost microscopic area of disc. So it makes traditional storage more efficient.”

No word on when we’ll see the prototype.
